IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT
Drivers education is only important when it comes to learning road signs and signals, I don’t believe that attending drivers education is going to reduce the numbers of deaths every year. Although every parent wants their kid to be safe on the road learning how to drive “safely and correctly” will never guarantee you to not get in an accident. Sometimes drivers education builds up fear for a driver when on the road, they get so cautious and aware of what’s going on and at times it’s what causes crashes. I don’t believe that driver's education is that important when it comes to reducing deaths but there are ways to reduce accidents.
You can’t ever plan to not get in a car crash, but you can do certain things to avoid colliding with other cars, such as texting and driving. Two million people are involved in car collisions each year, and about sixty four percent of those accidents are due to cell phones and other technology, avoiding technology when driving can very much reduce numbers of deaths. Drinking and driving is also a huge cause when it comes to numbers of deaths each year. Thirty people even more at times are in car crashes due to drinking and driving, not only does this affect themselves but as well as the others they crash with. Imagine someone you love being hit by a drunk driver or distracted driver you’d be devastated.
My grandmother was once hit by a car I believe he was drunk my uncle was in the car as well, I was too young to understand at the time, but it was frightening for my family. No one was hurt but it’s devastating when someone does get hurt or even passes away. Keeping myself and family safe always well keep me freight free but I can only do so much.
I can explain to my family to avoid drinking and driving as well as avoid texting and driving and dodge reaching to get something when occupied on the road. Keeping calm while driving can also be a good step because you won’t get anxious while driving and cause a collision. There are multiple steps to feel safe when driving and you should take those steps to avoid accidents, you just should but safety so loud in your mind it will cause problems. Takes step but don’t step to fast.
Overall, I do not believe attending drivers ed will decrease the numbers of deaths each year drivers education can only teach you so much and avoiding collision isn’t one of them. Of course, learning road signs and situations on the road is good to know but no one should get anxious when driving and everyone should take safe steps when it comes to driving because you don’t want to take your life or any other life because of a bad choice.
