Do
you drive yet? If so, did your parents, family, friends, or
professional instructors teach you? Learning to drive with
precautious drivers or instructors is the best way to learn how to
drive well and avoid accidents. Having a good driving education can
prevent deaths, both yours and others. You will learn what not to do
at the wheel and what to do in certain situations. With driver's
education, you'll learn the meaning of road signs and the speed
limits depending where you are. You will even learn what to do in an
event of an accident which hopefully does not happen. Even the
smallest amount of knowledge can prevent devastating situations.
Several actions can be taken to reduce accidents.

Sadly,
each day about 3,300 people in road crashes. These deaths are usually
caused by distracted driving. Distracted
driving is commonly linked to cell phone use or technology overal1.
Alcohol and drugs can be another factor that can lead to accidents.
Steps that can be taken to avoid deaths related to driving would be
to get rid of all distractions inside the car such as food,
cellphones, or doing your makeup. Drivers should always focus on the
road and their surroundings. Alcohol nor drugs should never be
consumed while or before driving. Always make sure to be driving at
the speed limit on the road which you are on. Knowing
the weather conditions before you head out is also very important to
know I’m case there’s ice on the roads. You can be the safest
driver but still be in an accident because of others.

I
have never been in a car accident, but my mom has. This happened when
I was younger, so I have little to no recollection of the event. I
just remember my mom left to work in her black Nissan and came home
without it. She tells me it was quite frightening because she could
have died. She wasn’t at fault in the accident, the other person
was, but she never did get her car back. She was scared to drive for
a while, eventually she would get back on the road. My mom teaches me
how to drive safely.

Steps
that I can take to be a safer driver would be to learn with an
experienced and safe driver. I can study the driving handbook the DMV
provides, studying the road signs and the things I should do in case
of certain events. Always be alert on the road and never have any
distractions nearby. Practice safe driving habits at home or on less
occupied roads. I can help others be safe drivers by pointing out
mistakes they make behind the wheel or giving them safe driving tips.
The smallest amount of knowledge can make a big difference in
someone's life.
