  Daily
we hop into our vehicles to head on over to our destination without
ever thinking if you’ll make it back home. Car accidents can happen
to anyone in a vehicle at any given time and place. Driving education
should be mastered before heading onto the read without obtaining any
knowledge about road safety.

  In
the United States, accidents occur every day and the number of deaths
seem to be increasing as the years go by. Drivers can apply several
steps to reduce the number of deaths that occur. Drivers should
adjust their side mirrors, rear-view mirror, and their seat before
heading on the road. This will allow the driver to not only drive
comfortably, but also being able to check their surroundings. Most
people don’t think about it but making sure your car is in good
condition is a priority in safe driving. Things such as your wheels,
brakes, and blinker lights. One of the most common reasons for
accidents to happen is due to not paying attention to the road.
People think that they can multitask by driving and texting, but once
drivers take their eyes off the road for even a second an accident if
most highly possible to occur.

   As
I approached the age of sixteen, I was excited in obtaining my
license. I had taken driving lessons with a driving school and I felt
sure I was a safe driver. I never expected I’d get into a car
accident where I was the person who provoked it. That day I had woken
up late for school and was stressed. I grabbed my backpack and my
sister and dog hopped into the backseat and I backed out of my
driveway as quickly as possible. I was so annoyed and under pressure
that I couldn’t even think straight. I stopped at a light getting
ready to make a left turn which I had made before where it never
occurred to me that I had to yield so I went anyways. A truck ended
up crashing onto the passenger side causing the windows to get
shattered and the airbag to go off. Thankfully my sister, dog, and I
were completely safe as well as the other driver. From that day on I
make sure that I am aware of everything happening around me and make
sure I never drive under pressure again.

   To
make sure drivers conduct safe driving they should follow a few
steps. Never using their phone while driving; if it were an emergency
the driver could safely stop at place where then they can then reply.
Driving to the speed limit is so important to make sure you are safe
and driving with caution. Again, being aware of your surroundings,
even though you know you’re driving safety and caustically, the
person next to you might not be and you must be prepared for anything
to come at you. Using your blinker lights to let the drivers around
you know your next move so they are prepared to adjust themselves.
And most importantly putting on your seatbelt.

    Even
though driving allows us to transport to any place in a faster way,
we should always remind ourselves that our own life matters just the
same as anyone else’s. So before heading off, make sure you are
calm, everything is adjusted, and your seatbelt is put on correctly
that your destination awaits you.
