When i was first starting my Drivers Ed, I was naturally confident heading in, however the words from my instructor had changed my viewpoints on how i drive. He had told me a saying that I soon won't forget, “It doesn't matter if you are the best driver in the world, if someone in the road isn't driving carefully, everyone around them is at the same risk as well”. Whenever one begins to learn how to drive, it is a necessity that they must learn the basics of drivers safety and etiquette. It is important that we teach the new upcoming drivers so they can access a more efficient way of transportation, and as well make driving safe for themselves and also for everyone one on the road. Going back to the quote i remember from my instructor that was actually my first day of drivers ed, coincidentally that was also the exact day that i had nearly gotten into an accident. Like i had mentioned i was pretty cocky, I had a little bit of experience under my belt, but all i had driven were the ranchlands in south texas, this was a whole new change of scenery. I hadn't checked my blind spot and nearly veered into a car that was in the passing lane right to the left of me, I had just veered back in the nick of time and that's when he had told me the quote. What truly amazed me was his patience with me, he was a natural teacher and I always try to keep in touch with him, especially for driving advice, he had helped me understand the ways of the road and to be a good driver. I went from a kid who was scared out of his skin the first day, into driving on a packed expressway without error in the span of two weeks. Due to COVID-19 i wasn't able to get my permit until 3 months later but while i'm still learning driving around with my mom nearly every day and adjusting even more and getting comfortable with the concept of me driving, i believe i have a full understanding of driving. If a kid who messed up on his first day to driving like an adult on one of the most compact expressways in the state of texas, I believe that our new younger generation of drivers and so on so forth, should receive and adheed all the advice given to them when it comes to driving safety, remind them to always wear a seatbelt, whether they are driving are not, remind them to always check their blind spot. We never know as soon as we say it but with those words, you could potentially save their lives in the future along with potentially many other lives.
