Drivers education is a very important step in protecting the lives of future generations. Teaching people the importance of safe driving while they are young will lead to fewer car crashes, less deaths, and informed drivers for years to come.
Some very important steps that can be taken to reduce the number of driving related deaths is making sure that everyone who gets on the road has taken the proper courses and making sure that all people are educated on different traffic laws and regulations. Another thing that can be done is making sure that you are familiar with the car that you are driving. It is important to know things like how to turn on the windshield wipers or your car's headlights so that there is nothing hindering your driving performance.
Sadly, as a teenager it is very common to see others around me driving irresponsibly. Teens tend to think that they are untouchable, and that their bad decisions won’t have any consequences. I have seen things like not wearing a seatbelt, speeding for no reason, and constantly being on your phone, to name a few examples.
The first step that I take to make sure I am being a responsible driver is making sure that my car is always running properly, making sure my tires are filled, I have enough gas, and that I can drive to my destination without any complications. The next step that I take is to put on my seatbelt and set my phone out of reach and face down so that it is less of a distraction. I can help others around my drive safer by encouraging them to follow all traffic laws like speed limits and encourage the use of seatbelts. I can also hold peoples phones for them or put them in an unreachable spot while they are driving so that they no longer have that temptation.
