In the Driver's Seat

Driver Education is vital because it helps a new driver to obtain a safer environment. Educating people about driving can reduce the number of deaths by following the rules and driving responsibly. Driver Education provided me with basic vehicle control skills and it gave me an understanding of road rules and symbols. There can be many causes for road accidents like distracted driving, drunk driving, speeding, and severe weather conditions. Distracted driving is the main reason behind car crashes. Drivers should be educated in the classroom and trained practically by professional driving instructors. Learning correct driving skills and implementing them in daily life can reduce crashes and traffic violations on road.
As a driver, it is my responsibility to drive safely and obey the road rules. In order to reduce the number of driving-related deaths, a driver should make sure that the vehicle is in good shape, and vehicle parts should operate effectively. To prevent road collisions, the malfunctioning part of the vehicle should be repaired. Drivers should be aware of their surroundings and should respect other drivers on the road. Consuming alcohol and driving can be risky, not only for the driver but also for people around the drunk driver. People should avoid driving after drinking instead they can book taxis online from taxi services like uber and Lyft. According to law, it is mandatory to wear seat belts while driving a car. At the time of a road collision, wearing seat belts could minimize the risk of death and other dangers. The driver should avoid all distractions that can lead to an accident. Some of the distractions are eating, drinking, applying makeup, texting, and talking on the phone while driving. Drivers should plan the route before starting a journey and should check for traffic status before leaving home. While driving, road users should follow all the road rules and symbols. In order for other drivers to become aware of your actions, it is necessary to signal the movement of a car before changing lanes or direction. Drivers should take safety precautions while driving to achieve a positive space on road.
The experiences that I had during a car accident is, I was traveling with my friend and unfortunately, we faced an accident. My friend forgot to indicate to other drivers that she was changing the lane on the road. The car behind us was close to our car and both of the cars crashed. Thankfully, all of us were wearing seat belts and airbags worked perfectly. There were no major injuries we just had minor cuts and sprains. This experience had taught me that it is important to be aware of the surroundings while driving and making other drivers aware of my actions behind the wheel. Another experience was the reckless driving of one of my cousins. While driving, she was checking her phone messages and wasn’t concentrating on the road. We didn’t face an accident at all, but I was pretty scared as she drove irresponsibly.
The steps I will continue following to become a stronger and safer driver are that I will obey the rules and symbols of the road. I will always encourage drivers to avoid driving while they are drunk. I would try to eliminate distractions while I am driving to stay clear of road accidents. Each time before traveling in the car it is my responsibility to check mirrors, wear a seat belt, and plan the route ahead of time. To be responsible drivers, I would encourage everyone to focus on the road while driving. A healthy and safe environment can be created by small efforts made by every driver.
