Driving is a part of everyone’s daily life; we depend on our vehicles to transport us to our jobs, extracurricular activities, and much more. Vehicles are beneficial to an individual’s life, but have you ever thought of the dangers we can put ourselves into with our motor vehicles? In society, people view the vehicle as the problem for accidents, but it is personally up to the individual to follow the guidelines and rules to keep themselves and others safe. It only takes one mistake to put you or someone else’s life in danger. The main cause for accidents in society are distractions such as: cell phones, passengers, drugs, or even lack of sleep. It is stated that 23% of car crashes are generally caused by cell phones, but another cause of wrecks also is the lack of knowledge in the driver. Driver’s education is of most importance because it teaches teenagers the development of rudimentary vehicle control and traffic operation. A person with driver’s education has a greater long-term knowledge of driving than a peer without driver’s education.

Most situations in driving can be prevented by simply obeying the law, avoiding distractions, making sure you are well rested, and staying away from alcohol or any type of drugs or heavy medication. Also, another thing to manage is your vehicle’s maintenance, specifically brakes, tires, and steering wheel. Brakes are of most importance because they help stop your car at any time, but without completely functional brakes, you can endanger yourself or someone else on the highway. Having a healthy and stable mentality also plays a major role in driving; it is best to make sure you are in the best mental state possible in order to not cause dangers on the road. Always be predictable of the other person’s actions and be aware of the possible choices another driver could make. To become a better driver, take time to process the rules and regulations of becoming a better driver. You can simply try by taking driver courses and classes to help improve your knowledge of road safety.
