During 2018,
based on Texas Department of Transportation, 1 person was killed
every 2 hours 25 minutes, 1 person was injured every 2 minutes 7
seconds, and 1 reportable crash occurred every 58 seconds. Now just
think about the statistics for a second. No one every plan to crash
while they are driving, everyone plans to go home safely to their
family, however accident do indeed happen. Especially as now as more
young teens and young adults are driving more frequently it is
extremely important to show the important of driving and taking
safety precautious in order to prevent accident or if someone is
involve in an accident, prevent more damage to oneself. Therefore, it
is important to take driving education seriously as it can
potentially reduce the number of deaths on roads. Driving education
shows the important of handling a motor vehicle and the proper
mechanics on how to use a vehicle. In addition, driving education
will shows you the meaning of road signs and how important is it to
follow them. During the course of driving education, it will allow
one to build a sense of responsibility and confidence in which will
ultimately translate to America’s roads. As a result of taking a
driving education course, statistics shows that it can reduce
accident rates by 4.3% and reduce ticket violation by 40%
(obrella.com)! Therefore, driving education does not only safe your
life but also your wallet, because we all may know that getting a
ticket is quite expensive.
I thank God for
my well-being and my family well-being that we have never been
involve in a serious accident. As my mother takes driving very
seriously and encourage myself and my siblings to drive with cautious
and always be aware of our surrounding. There are several ways to
reduce the number of deaths resulting in driving, however my number
one way is REMOVE all distractions! This means phones, radio,
conversations, and anything that can distract you because it just
takes a second of a distraction to cause serious injuries to yourself
and others. Based on studies, about 9 people are killed everyday due
to car crash involving a distracted driver and texting or reading a
text takes a driver’s eyes off the road for at least 5 seconds
(carsurance.com). The next things that can be done to reduce deaths
and accidents on America’s roads is to follow the speed-limit, this
is very crucial in road as speeding accounts for 26% of all traffic
fatalities. Speeding causes the driver to lose control and have less
reaction time to avoid an accident. Therefore, the steps that one can
take in order to create a better and safer drivers as well as help
others become safer on the road is taking driving education
seriously, removing distraction, and following the speed-limit by
doing this is will reduce the number of deaths on America’s roads
and keep a everyone safe.
