Driving education plays an important role in reducing the number of deaths and accidents for multiple reasons, one of those reasons is to develop safe driving skills. Driver’s education programs are made to teach these new drivers the rules and regulations to safely operate a vehicle on the road. They do this by making sure before any student drives, they understand all the signs and traffic regulations. Driver’s education also helps raise awareness of risks on the road and how dangerous driving can be. Another thing driver’s education does is promote defensive driving. This helps drivers go through measures to avoid accidents and respond to unexpected incidents. Most driver’s education programs strive to encourage their students to drive responsibly and to think about the consequences of their actions. They strive to reduce distractions and distracted driving because driver’s education programs understand the importance of not texting while driving and how many people have lost their lives from distracted driving.
Reducing the number of deaths related to driving requires a broader approach and requires lots of strategies to reduce the number of fatalities. One thing that can be done is required driving education with updated rules and regulations. With the required driving education, they can make stricter licensing requirements with more on road driving testing. A strategy that can be used is by utilizing more enforcement of traffic laws and higher consequences for any driving under the influence or texting and driving. Manufacturers are attacking some of these issues by pushing forward safer driving technology with the use of blind spot detection and emergency braking systems. Another piece of technology that can be used is by not allowing the vehicle to operate without the driver’s seatbelt fastened. This will enforce seatbelt laws and decrease the injuries caused by accidents by drivers without seatbelts. Another strategy that can be used is faster emergency response to reduce the fatality rate and to save injured drivers from accidents. We can promote safer driving and have protests and campaigns to encourage safer driving habits. But by continuing to research and find new ways to build roads for less accidents we can decrease the number of deaths from accidents.
I’ve experienced a lot of people lose their lives from car accidents, one of them being my uncle. My uncle was driving intoxicated, so it altered his mind while he was driving and ended up crashing into a tree and dying from the impact. My family was hurting, and some are still hurting from this loss including me, but it was sort of a lesson for me to never drive under the influence. I would hate to leave the people that love me most and think about how much they would hurt if I lost my life because I was under the influence. Not long after the loss of my uncle, one of my brother's best friends died in a motorcycle accident. Seeing him go through what he did was difficult because my brother is a very positive upbeat person. My father’s best friend also died in a motorcycle accident and even though it was neither my brother or dad’s friends fault I still see how unsafe driving has affected them and how they think to this day. I lost these people in my life before I started driving so when I first started driving, I was very scared because I didn’t want to end up like my uncle and that was always my biggest fear. But once I started driver's education, I started to become more relaxed and comfortable on the road. Even though I was more comfortable I still ended up getting iotp an accident and even though no one got hurt it was a scary experience for me. I eventually got over it and used that experience to help me become a better driver and a more defensive driver.
There are some steps I mentioned earlier in my essay I can use to become a safer driver. One step is being more of a defensive driver and being aware of my surroundings. Being a defensive driver keeps me out of dangerous situations and allows me to make smart decisions. Another example I didn’t mention is to make sure I am sharing the road with every driver. It should help make every driver's decision easier so less mistakes will happen around me. Driving awareness is one of the most essential steps I could take to be a safer driver. Keeping my eyes on the road and not getting distracted is a key to reducing accident probability.
