Everywhere in the world has driving laws implemented with the
intention of keeping the roads safe and those on it safe. Thus,
meaning the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of
deaths as a result of driving is ensuring drivers’ education is
shared worldwide as accurately as possible. Without the sharing of
drivers ed, roads would be similar to war zones; yelling,
miscommunication, danger and ultimately death.

Some may say that I am quite unlucky as I have been in four car
accidents within my nineteen years of living. Within all these
accidents I was never once left in critical condition. Three of these
four car accidents were caused by the reckless driving of my
rebellious aunt. All four of these accidents were caused by texting
and driving. The first being our family car being rear-ended by a
distracted driver and the three to follow being due to my aunt’s
inability to put her phone away while behind the wheel. Ultimately
leading to her totaling her latest car. The most traumatic of the
four accidents I can recall would most certainly be when my aunt
chose to watch Netflix on a stormy night drive back from Atlanta
Georgia. That was the last time I ever got in a car with her again.
It was clear she did not value her life or the life of others in her
car as she repeatedly put herself and others in grave danger behind
the wheel.

Some steps that I could take to make myself and others
better drivers is to appeal to the different people within my society
and share tips for safe driving through an app I would create. Within
this app driving tips and statistics would be shared every night when
many would almost certainly see them. A special feature of this app
would be a reminder that the phone owner had the privilege of making
it home alive while someone somewhere did not due to reckless
driving. This I believe would be an effective eye-opener to a vast
majority of people.

Aside from the common rule of wearing a seat belt and no texting
while driving. There are other steps that could be used to reduce the
number of deaths related to driving. For example, enforcing safe
driving into the curriculum of students grades six through twelve.
Rather than making Drivers Ed mandatory in order to obtain a legal
driver’s license. Drivers Ed should be a core course in each grade
level. Each year would consist of different topics such as road laws
and signs, consequence of texting and driving, seatbelt safety,
roadside safety, and stranded education. With each grade given a
designated course topic, students will be able to better absorb
valuable road knowledge.

In summation, everywhere in the world has driving laws implemented
with the intention of keeping roads safe. If everyone stood together
to share drivers ed, we could all prevent a life or text
situation.
