I was only 13 years
old and it was Thursday, December 2, 2013. I was with my mom driving
back home from dance practice. My dad was at work in Houston Texas.
My mom had decided to take a different route home and she was tired
from work. The first car in the junction had let us cross but the
next thing I know is that my eyes widen when I see a Range Rover with
the driver looking like a 23 year old had hit the driver's side of
our car. The driver's side window was completely shattered. My mom in
shock balling her eyes out when I turn my head to face her, I look
down towards her hands, shards of glass stuck on my mom's hand. As i
try to get out of the car through my side, I notice that it wasn't
wanting to open, but then I realized that it was locked. I unlock the
car, pulling my mom out of the car, through my side, gently so that
she wouldn't be screaming in pain. I was in charge of telling the
police and the ambulance what had happened. When my dad was working,
he called me and asked if my mom and I were ok. I said that we were
kind of ok, but we were both in shock, and I was sobbing like crazy,
telling my dad what had happened. When he heard this, he immediately
drove home from Texas to Florida, and decided to stay for a few days
after the accident. Even if it's been like 4 years since the
accident, I still feel like it happened just yesterday.

There is always
going to be that one driver who is so reckless and focused on their
phone more than driving on a busy road. The worst possible thing that
you would do is not pay attention when you are driving. Especially if
you are just becoming a new driver on the road, you have to be extra
careful with careless drivers because they are everywhere. One of my
teachers actually got into an accident this past weekend...I think.
She is still sore and I am happy to see her bright face everyday at
school, because she was one of my favorite teachers in my 11th grade
year. Anyone who decides to go out and drink alcohol, don't expect
yourself to become the victim of a fatal car accident, because you
know what the consequences are.
