My bad habits while driving and destructions Most of us learned how to drive and when we got comfortable on the roads, we started developing bad habits. I try to stay focused on the roads. But as any of us who drives to and from, get thirsty, hungry, board, hot, daydreaming, thinking about how my cat is doing, and get destructed. One of my common destructions when I get puckish, and I allow myself to search for snacks with one hand while driving. I try to keep my eyes on a road, but if I can’t quickly find desirable snack, I glance back and forth, and this is dangerous. Another destruction is having a good friend with me in a car. How many times we missed our turns and then tried quickly get back on the rout. Well, this is another one that gets me periodically. When I use GPS or hear text messages coming it, that can be also very destructive. Pets and children are also huge destructive factors. It makes me want to improve my safety. First of all, I can eat and drink before and after the journey. If the journey is long, I can plan nice stops and have a snack in a safe place. That way I also will keep in a good shape as my snacks will become more intentional. The GPS can be also set up when I am stationary before the trip. It will help to keep calm too, that helps to stay save on a road. With the friends I can instruct them at the beginning of the trip of our new rules and ask them to get involved in our journey, so we both keep an eye on a route. Text messages can be switched off while driving, and it is a safest way to drive. Also, it will help me to enjoy driving and be present to what is in front of me. And with children I am lucky – mine are all grown up. I only have a cat that hardly ever goes with me in a car, and he is pretty good. There is more danger involved in teenage driving, I know it by myself, as young people somehow underestimate the bad consequences due to the lack of life experience. I believe that role of the parent or a guardian is very important, as they can teach teenagers about good driving habits by showing the example, and teaching the dangers and the consequences of careless driving. One shouldn't underestimate powerful influence of social educational movies, where bad case scenarios are fabricated very close to the real possible story, and teaches the viewers about cause and effect of different behaviors, often making the viewer to rethink their bad habits. I know few people, and myself including, who became more thoughtful and careful after watching short film about dangerous driving and bad driving habits, with a bad consequences. I like that video, because at the end they replayed the good case scenario of the same event, should one drive carefully, and it had the happy end for everyone. They are very powerful, they penetrate a subconscious, and pop out in the time when you need them. After such thorough plan I feel much more confident and positive about my safer driving. Thank you for bringing awareness to it. Thank you.
