Repetition and Preparedness in
a World of Vast Uncertainty

Getting
into the car for the first time was very nerve wracking, knowing
that, at any moment, I could be in a car accident, or in harm no
matter where I was. Drivers ed is extremely important because
although everyone, or most people, know how to drive, very few know
how to drive safely and properly. With the education from classes or
lessons of drivers ed, the driver can become better
equipped with knowledge to make them better defensive drivers. When
driving, you should try to control all that you can, in order to
reduce the number of deaths from driving.

In
order to reduce the number of deaths from driving, every individual
should be required to take drivers ed courses. By doing
this, the driver will learn how to drive safely and correctly before
they get their license and they will be informed. Once each
individual has to renew their license, they should be required to
retake a course or take a test to ensure they can drive safely. Also,
another important factor is maintaining the state of the car through
servicing and oil changes. It is important to keep a routine when
driving and keeping a car in order to ensure absolute safety.

Growing
up, my sister and I have a 10 year age difference, my sister and I
would drive around running errands or hanging out with each other,
but she would use her phone while we drove, and still continues to do
so now. My father used to do the same thing, so I think that she may
have been influenced by him and his habits growing up. As humans, we
feel that we are capable of extreme multitasking, and as young
people, we feel invincible, but accidents and harm that can incur
from driving, do not discriminate, and disregard age and privilege.

As
an individual, I always try to make sure that I am comfortable in the
car; adjusting my seat and making sure I am at ease. It is always
important to me that I am stress free if I can be while driving,
because there are many reasons to be anxious while driving, but if
you can control some factors, some of the stress is alleviated.
Often, I try to be a defensive driver using skills I had learned from
drivers ed and from experience. To be the best drivers, we
must remain informed and educated regarding how to safely drive.
