The dangers that come with it are many injuries and lots of deaths. It is normally because one or several drivers were distracted by something, but sometimes it is just a person driving recklessly. Driver education courses are offered all over the country and I believe they are needed. Some people may believe that driver education is only for people who do not have driving experience, but it is not. Driver education also works as a refresher for the rules of the road and to learn driving skills you may have forgotten or were not familiar with. I fully believe driver education can reduce the number of deaths on the road.
Many people have seen or been in an accident and can probably agree that it is very scary; even if you're not the one in the accident. The time I saw a car hit another car and crashed into the interstate wall was a very scary experience. The driver was going too fast and lost control, which caused him to crash into the wall after hitting another car. The best way to stay safe while driving is to focus on driving and do not pass the speed limit. The speed limit isn’t there just to be a law, it is also for our safety.
I completed a driver’s training course in February 2018. Even though I was already familiar with driving, I took the course to learn more. Also, there is a discount on your car insurance with completing the course. A rule I learned was called, “The 3 Second Rule.” We were told to always leave a three second space from the car in front of you and every hazard or the size of the vehicle would be an additional second. Weather, truck trailer, or any mechanical issues that would delay your stopping speed would all be examples of hazards. In conclusion, I think everyone should take a driver education course. If you have a car, you need car insurance so take the course for the discount and learn something new to improve your driving. We all share the road so everyone’s driving can affect another person. If we all watch our speed, follow the 3 second rule, and focus on our driving, it can and will reduce the number of deaths caused by driving.
