Safe Driving
In today’s world our main source of transportation is automobiles. Between 1990-2017 there were roughly 272 million vehicles registered in the United States alone. In 2018 there was approximately 17 million cars sold to consumers within the United States. For a comparison
in the numbers 2018 statics were up 15 million from 2013. Readers may ask what my point is for this essay well let me explain. The demand for transportation is at an all time high which also brings accidents, injuries and even fatalities.
There are many incidents caused by people who are not following basic safe driving rules. Here are a few examples

Do not text and drive (Hands free law)

Do not follow to closely

Drive the speed limit (some believe it’s safer to drive below the speed limit but this may also be a danger to other drivers)

Always use turn signals

Avoid changing lanes (swerving in and out of traffic)
Safety is a huge concern when it comes to safe driving. One may follow all the rules of the road but they cannot forsee unfortunate events. Often times safe driving doesn’t fall on the driver but on the road. Drivers have to stay aware of road hazards such as potholes, uneven pavement, construction, and debri.
There are many types of drivers on the road today. You have drivers who abide by the laws and dangerous drivers. Many of these drivers make it dangerous on the road for others. Safe driving is important because it can ensure a life is not taken by another careless actions or mistakes. Some may ask how can I become a safe driver. Here are some steps always keep your eyes on the road, hands free of mobile devices, and always do the speed limit.
