Steps to be taken to reduce driving related deaths all can be learned from drivers education. It is taught how long you can look at your speedometer or mirror, before you need to look back at the road. It teaches how to safely change lanes, merge, and so much more. I think drivers education should be an ongoing class, not just one to take in high school. I think everyone that has a license needs to go to courses, after a certain amount of time.
I personally have never been involved in an accident due to irresponsible driving. I have heard many stories though. These high school kids were messing around, doing donuts in a parking lot, and they were in a jeep. The jeep rolled over and killed people in that car. Messing around like that can get you into deep, forever trouble.
Steps that I do to become a better driver is putting all distractions away. I could also talk to my friends to set rules in my car so they do not become a distraction while I am driving. I can ensure whoever is driving me is off their phone and is paying attention to the road. I do not tolerate being on your phone while driving, or being distracted.
