Safe
Driving Essay

I
live in Florida, which has been dubbed the state with the worst
drivers. I myself have been involved in an accident or two due to
carelessness. It does not have to be this way any longer, I believe
that with proper education on safe driving, us terrible Florida
drivers can change our ways, and exemplify safe driving on the roads.

Driving
education is undoubtedly the most important kind of education one can
learn. Due to commonalities of car accidents, and deaths due to car
accidents, we as drivers should be learning how we can be as safe as
possible in order to preserve not only our lives, but the lives of
others. If more people were aware of safety precautions which should
be taken behind the wheel, there would be a high probability of a
decrease in accidents.

Luckily,
there are some steps we can follow to avoid death by car accidents.
Step one, be aware and attentive. Before turning on the car, but your
phone on do not disturb. This will prevent distractions from phone
notifications. It is also important that the driver is alert enough
to be behind the wheel. Tired drivers are often unsafe drivers. A
suggestion to combat drifting off behind the wheel could be grabbing
an energy drink or a cup of coffee before hitting the road. Secondly,
understanding that driving under the influence of any kind of
substance (i.e marijuana, alcohol, etc.) can put yourself and others
at risk. By using ride share apps such as Uber or Lyft, or ensuring
there is a designated driver, we can prevent driving under the
influence. Finally, following basic traffic laws which tends to be a
major problem for teenagers. This includes stopping at stop signs,
running red lights, and speeding. Promoting the importance of
following these basic laws can help reduce the amount of deaths
related to driving and allow us to be better and safer drivers on the
road.
