In order to be a safer driver, I can lower the volume of my music, slow down my speed by a couple miles per hour, and put my phone in the backseat or somewhere out of reach to lower the temptation to use it to change music or briefly respond to a message. Eliminating or minimizing distractions within my own car can help me to be safer and also set an example for those who ride with me to experience riding with a safe driver who takes extra precautions to ensure safe driving habits. This can help encourage others to drive safely, as well as encouraging other drivers to put away their phone or slow down their speed while in the car with them. Becoming a safer driver myself and helping others will help keep myself and my loved ones safe as well as others who are out driving on the same roads.
