Save
a Life
Nothing
is more fun than taking a 2-hour drive to go to a grocery store in a
different town because that is the closest one. On a summer day, 5 of
squeeze in the car to go on this excited adventure. While driving we
come upon a huge car crash that has everyone stopped. There is a
camper and a small red Volkswagen involved. We soon come to find out
that the driver of the camper swerved to get to avoid hitting a deer
causing them to fall over onto the red car. My grandmother got out of
the car to see what she can do, and she comes across the mother
holding her motionless 6-month baby. Not knowing what to do, my
grandmother comes back to the car wiping away her tears to tell us
what was going on.
After
living in Utah for 2 years, I went to the DMV to receive my Utah
license. I came across the question about what you do when there is
an animal on the road. I read this question, thinking about what I
witnessed during that summer. When we read and study the rules of the
road, we know what do to do during times like those. Instead of
trying to swerve, we should be cautious of our surrounding, so we are
aware what is going and be ready for anything to happen. Educating
ourselves on what matters is important on saving a life. Many ways,
like driving fast, texting, and no paying attention can end a life.
Something
we really need to work on is staying off our phone while driving. It
takes a second for something to go out of hand. Tell the person you
can talk to them later and enjoy the ride. It can be fun when
listening to your favorite music.
