My aunt didn't attend a
drivers ed class. For that, she paid a hefty price. Her Jeep
rolled over in an auto accident. She wasn't wearing her seat belt.
She is lucky to be alive. However, her injuries were extensive. She
is paralyzed. A Drivers Education class could have prevented this.
It is a proven fact that seat belts save lives and reduce injuries.
Students are not taught how to be responsible drivers. Students get
into more accidents than any other age group. Every teenager's life
is important. Because of these statistics, every high school should
reintroduce Drivers Education back into their curriculum. Many teen
drivers believe that they are invincible. It is time for state
legislators to reintroduce drivers ed programs to high schools
to save lives. This is too late for my aunt, but so many more lives
can be saved.
