Nowadays,
our phones are very important to us. We use it for music, GPS in the
car, to call people in a hurry, and even to watch funny videos.
Sometimes we use our phones so much when we don't have it we almost
feel like naked, or that we are missing something. So it's only
natural that we look at our phones while driving. But the truth is,
it's a really bad idea to text or do anything on your phone while
driving. Many young drivers text while they are driving and that has
been the cause of many deaths of teenagers behind the wheel.

Technology
and social media has a huge influence in our lives as young people.
No matter where we are and no matter where we go the natural instinct
our generation has is to take a picture of something interesting
thing and put it on snapchat or post it on instagram. Yea it might be
pretty cool to get a picture of the sunset as you drive on the
freeway but that picture could put you in the hospital or even worse.
Any type of distraction at the wheel can be the cause of a major
accident. There have been many times that I have had to help out the
driver putting music on or with GPS on the phone so the driver can
pay attention to the road. We all know that many deaths while driving
happen because of the use of Cellphones while driving. Many different
laws have been implemented to help prevent car accidents.I believe we
can slow down the number of deaths by implementing new settings on
popular apps such as snap and instagram. If devices such as iPhone
and Samsung have created a “Do Not Disturb While Driving Mode”
theses popular apps can add a similar setting that would lock the app
while driving. Drivers not being able to use these apps while driving
will highly reduce the number of distractions on the road and less
deaths will take place

Fortunately,
I have never been in a serious car accident ;but I have seen many
people driving irresponsibly while being the passenger. At many
times, while the driver is texting and is not entirely focused on the
road of what he or she is doing, I make sure I tell the driver to pay
attention. I have seen many of my friends in car accidents, and those
are the first thoughts I have when I know that the way the driver is
driving is not safe.

Texting
while driving puts not only you but other driver’s lives in danger
daily. Multiple people feel that staying connected to the outside
world is more important than focusing on the road ahead, although it
isn’t. It can harm others on the road who are doing nothing other
than trying to make it to their destination safely. If people would
open their eyes to the dangers of texting while driving, less car
accidents would take place every year and the roads would be much
safer.
