Take It Easy but don't take it for Granted

I remember two
summers ago I earned my driver’s permit. Two years later, I am
practicing for my license.

Adjust my seat.
Check. Put on my seatbelt. Check. Adjust my mirrors. Check. I
remember getting in the car practicing for my license, and my driving
instructor told me a car is great to have, but driving is a
privilege. I also processed a car is a deadly machine if the
individual disobeys all traffic laws and signs. I stay at or below
the speed limit. I took her words seriously and educated myself on
how can I be safe on the road on my own when I get my license.

The importance of
drivers ed is to inform young adults about the
responsibilities of safe driving, especially teenagers. By ensuring
proper education to all young adults about drivers ed, will
reduce the risk of injuries caused by automobile accidents and
auto-related deaths. There are many reckless and careless people who
get behind the wheel and take driving for granted. Auto-related
injuries and deaths range from not wearing your seatbelt, checking
your mirrors, not stopping at a stop sign, speeding, etc. Another big
problem today is cellphones and drunk driving. Everyone should be
educated on safe driving and teach others to save your life, as well
as others.

Personally, I have
never gotten into an accident, but there were a few times where I
almost got into one for not paying attention. If I were to inform the
importance of safe driving I would:

Protest and
petition for high schools to have drivers ed for free

Put all
distractions away, including your cell phone

Make a
worldwide presentation of all teenager death statistics caused by
reckless driving and educating how you can be safe

Always wear
your seatbelt and check your mirrors

Eyes on the
road at all times

Overall, the theme
of driving is “safety first”. All teenagers can learn from
others’ mistakes to prevent them from becoming another statistic.
All protocols taught are to be taken seriously to reduce the number
of automobile injuries and deaths. However, it’s your choice to
obey all the rules while driving or cost someone’s life.
