Driver's education is crucial for protecting the lives of people on the roads. Nearly, 43,000 people die each year in the United states from fatal crashes. Many of these accidents happen due to bad decisions made by drivers. Drivers education teaches new drivers the rules of the road and how to follow them. It also teaches them the consequences that come with making poor choices. It is important for every driver to be educated before driving on the roads. This will reduce accidents and keep the roads safe.
When I went to driving school, I remember feeling really nervous about being the one behind the wheel. I am the youngest in my family so usually, everyone else drove me around. Getting my drivers license was a huge milestone for me, and I took all steps seriously. I highly recommend others do the same. When I passed my driving test, I felt relieved and thankful for having the chance to get the education I needed to stay safe on the roads. Luckily everyone survived but the woman was in critical condition. Experiencing something like this with people I know made me realize that driving under the influence not only endangers your own life but also puts everyone around you at risk because of your poor choices.
It is also so important to have conversations with loved ones about the dangers of driving under the influence. This can make teenagers more mindful of their actions. Growing up my parents constantly told me to never get into a car with an intoxicated driver. They shared numerous stories about people who lost their lives due to drunk driving. These discussions brought major awareness of the importance of safety, and it's something that more families should regularly discuss with their children. This will help lower the rates of DUI incidents and deaths caused by drunk driving.

As traffic slowed, I looked to my right and saw a man, bloody and split in half between the guardrail. My family was in shock. We were all upset for a while, trying to process what we had just seen.
