The effects of car accidence
Like any little girl, my mother was my biggest role model; I would do anything for her. At the same time, I was a very energetic spoiled little girl because I had a mother who would do everything for me, so I always relied on her. At the age of 13, my mother passed away along with my baby sister and a lady who I loved like another grandma in a car accident with an 18 wheeler; I had to face that I had no one to keep going for but myself for her. Being a spoiled little girl careless on what goes around, I had to learn to reach as high as possible for those I love and learned real ambition. With my ambition, I can be the top of my class, and I went to the top 25% of my class, having started later than most students within the rank. Day after day, with that in mind in college, I’ll always reach my highest potential to achieve what I want.
After having no one else to live with, I moved in with my grandparents, and that was one of the hardest things I had to live by for many years. I was never used to living by myself, and when I had to start living with my grandma after my mother’s death, instead of dipping my toes, I was thrown in the deep end. The environment in that household was very manipulating and judgemental. Still, I knew that the only way I would survive for the sake of my mental health was to be open-minded with them and try to understand how they think. Due to the situation, I developed the ability to be more open-minded towards people, handling difficult situations more manageable. That itself is not only a great trait to have in school but life in general.
As I’ve previously mentioned, my family means the world, and being apart from them sad me since I won’t be there for them. With the many issues living with my grandparents brought, the most common challenge was not being allowed to have any form of communication with the rest of my family. I grew to be independent and go day by day with my own opinions to handle my situations, giving me the ability to have a more than average control in the things I do. With the independence I developed in that environment, I now handle every situation in school and out without trouble, and by myself, preparing me for when I’m out of high school and have to continue to do that in my future, I’ll be able to without a doubt.
Throughout each challenge I had to face, I never stopped trying to overcome it. With each challenge, I’ve grown ambition, independent, and open-minded, and that is proof that with a challenge, all it does is shape me for the better. I am a huge believer that we don’t face anything we won’t overcome. I won’t deny I had a rough start in high school, and from time to time, I still breakdown thinking the car accident could’ve prevented all of this suffering, but with how much I’ve progressed over the years, I am confident that I’ll achieve excellence in my future. I’ve had the opportunity to experience what college is like, and the pace each class is, I do not doubt what I can accomplish.
