The
Importance of Drivers ed

It
is easy to become distracted behind the wheel, explaining the steep
numbers of death that could be prevented. Drivers ed plays a
large role in safe driving. Most
crashes leading to deaths result from distracted driving or not
knowing the rules of driving. Knowing the rules of driving and being
tested more often, as well as being asked more in depth questions
during driving tests, could urge the public to stay updated on the
rules of the road. I have been in a car accident before due to the
other person not putting their full attention on the road and
disregarding others’ safety, as well as their own. Thankfully,
everyone was okay, but my family’s car was totaled. Classes can be
offered at more times throughout the week to allow the public to work
around their schedules and attend in hopes to help others become
safer on the road. However, many people do not want to attend a
driver safety class after a long day at work or school, so incentives
will need to be set in place. This could be insurance discounts, free
gift card giveaways, or larger give aways. I could also become a
better driver by staying updated on the rules of the road and paying
attention to those around me.
