The importance of drivers ed in reducing death THE IMPORTANCE OF DRIVER EDUCATION IN REDUCING DEATHS But who said cars are just wheels? If I replied yes to this, it’s probably I do not own one or use one; however, I need a driver’s service to commute to school, church, or other equivalent venues- that doesn’t make me an expert. Have experts got an opinion? Yes, they have. Experts propose that cars go beyond the wheels on which they drive- they are actually made of communicating systems. Systems that only require an instruction in order to execute a desired function- without an instruction they are just like a blank sheet of paper. For the safest communication, only an instructor who deeply understands their language is helpful. Associating this to other social settings, miscommunication causes social confusion and instability, and the deadliest- societal dissociation leading to societal death. A teacher can contribute to these effects with being poor instructors, in an operating room, a surgeon can do same by confusing one tissue with the other. Will the driver’s matter? Yes, the answer is certainly, yes. A driver holds the lives of multitudes- about fifty of them- at a time. If he/she misinterprets the car’s language, there’re no answers to the extent of safety of these multitudes and the driver- all may perish (the social confusion). A circumstance of this kind makes the driver’s job more safety centered than that of the teacher, the lawyer, the pianist, and to some extent, the surgeon, who is concerned with just one life at a time. For this case, the essence of a drivers ed includes but not limited to the points discussed below. Firstly, the driver should maintain the social system. A driver contributes much to the social system- without them transport to other jobs and social venues that support society would not be possible. With drivers hosting about fifty lives at a time, any impacts from their mistakes will not cost only those involved, but at large, their loved ones. For drivers to contribute to the social balance, they require a no- doubt education that will enable them familiarize themselves with the car’s language and the language of the roads or other necessary components of driving. Drivers cannot play chess with the lives of families- the fabric of society- thus both intensive and extensive drivers ed should be a prerequisite. Furthermore, drivers should answer to people’s demands of safety. Settlements are along roads, pedestrians use roads, and livestock should live to serve future purposes. These issues in mind, drivers should acquire education that will minimize recklessness- a major contributor to most road traffic incidents. People’s properties are not safe if drivers will drive into them, pedestrians can’t lose vital parts of their bodies if drivers will knock them down, and we can’t afford to lose our bulk of nutrients- proteins- if livestock will perish due to frequent knock downs from cars. A drivers ed is required to emphasize safety to our short and long term living.
