Teen safety driving is an important public issue because nowadays all teens want to do is be on their cell phones taking snapchats, changing their music, and wanting to act cool in front of their friends and it will cause them to lose focus on the road and other surrounding vehicles that are driving around them. In another case of the public issue some kids have never been taught to drive correctly, they haven't been taught the rules of the road or anything, and some other kids may have started driving at a young age due to parental situations. Drives Education can play huge role in helping teenagers because they teach you how to drive, the rules of the road, how to park your car on the side of the road going up a hill or down a hill, they will also teach you what to do if your car is hydroplaning or your sliding in the snow etc, those teachers are also teaching young drivers all of that to help them understand the road more and how important it is to be paying attention. I think that the biggest challenges teenagers face today while driving is cell phone usage, becoming a designated driver for someone that is under the influence, having no knowledge or experience on driving, or even driving while intoxicated. Teens can overcome these challenges by putting their phone down somewhere where it can’t become a distraction or putting it in the hands of the passenger while driving. Teens can also overcome being a designated driver by saying no to them even if they are peer pressured into it they can learn how to say no because it could affect the drivers life and some people that are under the influence aren't always as calm. Teenagers that don't have good experience or knowledge with driving can have someone in their family teach them how to drive or they could also find a driving class at their DMV to be able to learn everything they need to know. Driving while intoxicated can change your life forever even if you didn't have much of anything. A little drop can still change your life or even lead to costing your life or an innocent individual's life. We can stop all of this by saying no if we know we have to drive home or not attend anywhere that involves alcohol or drugs. A personal experience on driving wrong is that my cousin and her friend were driving on the interstate to go shopping they were having a good time laughing and everything until a driver who was driving under the influence came across the median instantly and struck the drivers side of the car causing my cousin to be sent to the hospital with major injuries to later on then be air lifted to a different hospital, on scene of the crash her friend that was driving was killed by the driver that was under the influence. That should be a huge sign to teenagers and anyone else to not drive under the influence because it can affect someone's life or even your life instantly because you chose to do something illegal and not think of the consequences that can happen beforehand because now that driver is in jail for a DUI and killing that girl. I think that schools can take action to continue to have Drivers Education courses to keep teaching them rules of the road and how to drive, I think that teenagers can take action by paying attention at all times to the road and staying off their cell phones. Communities can also help prevent these things by enforcing all laws to staying off their phones and driving safely to influence the young drivers to drive safe to I think that they should also come up with a device to put into cars that will alert cops if a cell phone is picked up while you are driving so you can get pulled over and begin to learn you lesson on why we need to stay off of our cell phones. Drivers always need to take precaution and be safe because you never know when something can happen to you or someone else that could be caused by your actions or the other driver in the other car. We need to all learn from our mistakes and also learn that we can say no and even if you feel peer pressured you wouldnt want to live with any guilt from a mistake that you could have prevented.
