Why
I pledge not to text and drive

Cars
rushing by me, standing by the highway. The power and force with
which they speed past me makes my heart flutter nervously. I close my
eyes and listen. People act like it’s nothing, they text, they mess
with the radio, they lose focus. Little do they know the true
consequences of their actions. Little do they know the damage that
could be done. I suck in a shuddering breath, little do they know the
truth. That it could all be lost in a moment. But I know this, my
parents were faithful to teach me that all my actions have
consequences to myself and to others. And I absolutely refuse to be
the cause of someone else’s suffering. So turn off your cell phone,
mute the ringer and put it away. It is not worth risking other’s
lives.
