Three
People Who Can Stop Dangerous Driving

Being
a safe driver is essential to saving lives across the globe. Driving
is the primary way people travel and one of the biggest causes of
death in America.

If
we want to lose fewer people to dangerous driving we need to be
dedicated to making sure ourselves and others don’t drive under
impaired circumstances. Impaired circumstances don’t necessarily
include only under the influence of alcohol and drugs, but also not
paying attention while driving due to many distractions in the car.
While driving the car, drivers should not be under the influence,
should not be distracted by music, or others in the car. There are
three people who can enforce safe driving. One is the driver. The
driver is responsible and should, therefore, know the road, and how
to drive safely and the impact they have if they are not. In America,
on average, 34,000 people die each year as a result of driving.
Knowing that not only is the person involved in the accident
affected, but also his/her family. The second person who can enforce
safe driving is the passenger. The passenger can make sure they are
helping with directions, watching the road, making sure they aren’t
being too distracting and making sure other passengers aren’t too
distracting. The third person who can enforce safe driving is someone
seeing someone else about to drive. If a person sees someone about to
drive and they are under the influence, they can say something to
save a life. There are other options than driving if you feel like
you are distracted or under the influence. For example, you can call
someone to drive you somewhere, call a driving service to pick you
up, or simply wait or refuse to drive if you feel you would be
distracted.
Distracted,
and unsafe driving is detrimental to people on the road and people
off the road. People on the road are physically hurt, and people off
the road are emotionally hurt.
