When
I was asked if I wanted to go on a drive with my cousin, I did not
expect it to impact me the way it did. I did not expect to get into a
car accident. I did not expect calling my Mom, scared and confused. I
did not expect to be afraid of driving after that day. But I was. I
did not drive for months after that, all because my cousin made a
wrong, illegal turn. That experience made me realize how important
being educated about driving is and how unexpected life can be.

Education
about the rules of the road is crucial in order to lessen the deaths
caused by driving. Abiding by the rules will aid the driver’s
capability to drive safely. They must be in the right state of mind
and body, so that they do not injure others on the road. Attending
drivers ed will ensure that the driver is fully confident
in their abilities to be a responsible and safe driver. Also, driving
with experienced drivers is another essential aspect in being
educated about the road. You will most likely gain knowledge from
them, and learn about what you can do to reduce deaths that occur
when driving.

In
order to be a safe and responsible driver, they need to know all the
rules of the road. Education about driving is the most important step
to bring down the number of deaths caused because of driving. There
are also steps that can be taken in the car to ensure the utmost
safety. Make sure you put your seat belt on whenever you get into the
car and all your mirrors are adjusted correctly. While driving, never
use your phone or drink while driving. These initiatives are easy and
possibly life saving.

Being
educated about the rules of the road is one way I can be a better
driver. I can also wear my seat belt every time I get into a car, as
well as not using my phone, in any way. That includes talking,
texting or being on any type of social media. These steps will not
only encourage me to drive safely, but will also keep others safe as
well. I can remind others to not use their phone and to wear their
seat belt. Another way I can become a responsible driver is to not
drink and drive. Becoming a safer driver means taking the necessary
steps to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others on the
road and in the car. We should expect to follow these rules and
steps, so that we do not cause an unexpected or careless accident.
