My personal experience I’ve had from someone close to me is my brother and my uncle. My uncle asked my brother one day if he could borrow his car. It wasn't even my brother's car, it was a company car but my brother said ok and then we found out he sped on the parkway and lost control, hitting the rails and totaled the car. The car was deemed a loss and my uncle had minor injuries, we were all glad beyond belief that he was ok but deep down we still asked why.
What benefit do you have being on your phone not looking on the road, why do you decide to run a stop sign, a red light, not stop for the school bus, speed to evade cops, etc. Why? Using your phone on the road is dumb in my opinion, I head to work with my eyes on the road, I head home with my eyes on the road, whenever I am driving my eyes are on the road. I don't mean to say this like I'm a perfectly safe driver because I'm not but anything can happen on the road. You may think that you know how to drive while texting and everything's safe but what can we not predict? Other drivers. You're just one your phone and a driver is turning and you're not paying attention and BAM!...Pain and regret is what comes out of it. Cars are a blessing to have, to get from one place to another very quick and there is other transportation but cars are just a blessing. So why ruin your car? You’ll have to go through tedious steps for another car or your license will be suspended so there goes driving your car and that is money lost so why? Another human could’ve been hurt and a car is not light. So why do it?
Speeding is also a question we ask, but it happens and me personally the most dangerous on the road. Heavy braking, sudden turns happen on the road everyday and the speed limit sign is there for a reason. Imagen going 30 on a 15 and the area is crowded and people cross here and there, getting hit is bad as it is but getting hit by a car that's going faster than it should’ve been is very life threatening. Kids play on a non busy street all the time, usually in secluded neighborhoods but then someone wants to hear the sound their car makes on this not so busy street and see the speed they can reach and…it becomes tragic. Noone should have to go through losing a loved one by someone who was speeding so recklessly. Speeding with the police is also the dumbest thing I've ever seen, they just put more danger on the drivers on the road and the people crossing. I don't want that! I want to go home or to the movies or anywhere else but on the same road as the speeder. So why do it?
There are so many other dangerous things drivers do that can harm other drivers or pedestrians lives and I’ve already said Why do it but now I can say how can we prevent it. Taking driver safety courses can and will prevent accidents from happening on the road and if an accident happens I strongly believe they should take this course and it be mandatory. I know there will be more accidents on the road and there is no convincing them but you will be a safer and better driver than them and that is what we need in the road. We need people who care about their own safety and others as well because i want to go home to my beautiful girlfriend, my amazing mother and my kind dad and I want them to come home safely as well, I want everyone to go home to their loved ones so there kids, partners, parents, siblings, pet, etc. We all want to go home to them in the end and reckless drivers and accidents will prevent that from happening. Take the course, let's prevent that from happening and stop ourselves from asking So Why Do It?
