I was driving down Walton Street, I was distracted by a message on my
phone.  I picked up my phone and then I dropped it on the floor.
I decelerated so I would not hit the car in front of me as I went to
pick up my phone. What I did not notice was that the car in front of
me stopped to turn onto another street.  One second, I am
bending over to pick up my phone and the next I am stepping on the
brakes feeling my heart pump faster than it ever has in my life. 
BAM! Frozen in fear, I stayed in my car for a bit to let my actions
sink it. Seeing the damage, I realized that a miracle saved us both
from any serious damage.  Later night I told myself that I will
become a better driver to avoid another accident. Since then, I have
decided to get off my phone and pay more attention to the road. 
I would expect that other drivers would do the same in order to make
it safer for everyone. Drivers ed is crucial to reducing the
number of vehicular related deaths. Being able to drive is a
privilege and not a right, so one must be well educated.  If one
is not educated in driving, then they should not be able to drive.
Knowledge is power, and it cannot be any truer when talking about
driving. Making the driving test stricter by having the it allows
less marks could help ensure that only the educated can drive. 
Also getting off your phone to pay attention to the road will reduce
vehicular related deaths. This can lead to less deaths and create a
safer driving environment for everyone.
