An Informed Driver is a Safe Driver

Other than driving education, another means to reduce driving related deaths would be to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving. Distracted driving such as using a cellphone while driving accounts for many accidents and deaths, if more awareness could be raised, these numbers would go down. Additionally, speed is a major factor when it comes to fatal car accidents, again, if drivers were more educated on the dangers of speeding the number of fatal car crashes would decrease.
While I do not have personal experience being in a car accident, a few years ago, by grandmother was t-boned on a busy road, thankfully no one was hurt, but the experience was terrifying and I strongly believe that the accident would not have happened if the driver that hit her would have been better educated in safe-driving techniques and practices. The education of drivers is important because as the number of educated drivers increases, so does the safety of all the people on and near the road, and the number of traffic accidents decreases.
I feel that the best way for anyone to be a better driver is to educate themselves, education is a powerful thing because the more you know, the safer you can be. It is important to stay up-to-date on driving laws and regulations and always practice safe driving when on the road. Furthermore, it is of the utmost importance to stay focused when driving, distractions lead to accidents and the best drivers are the ones that give their full attention to the road and their surroundings. In summation, an informed, educated and focused driver is a safe driver and the more safe drivers there are, the less accidents there will be.
