Driving has been a convenient tool for humans ever since we have expanded outwards to establish more land. When driving a motorized vehicle was not available, people had to travel on carriages for days and weeks to reach a destination; then with the introduction of cars, we have been able to travel large distances in short amount of time making driving an important part of our lives. However, as technology advance so did the risks of it with the cars available today being able to move at such high speeds and weigh a lot in order to run at such high speeds, it becomes extremely dangerous if a human were to come in contact with a three thousand pound vehicle moving at extremely high speeds. Driver Education very important to reduce the accidents that occur on the road since it teaches the traffic rules that have been made by the governments to reduce the number of deaths, make intuitive decisions on the road to save any life that is endangered, and learn to avoid distracted driving. I am a still a learning driver, however, my father has done distraction driving that almost got him in an accident; if you are a companion of a distracted driver, the first step would be to put away or stop any distractions at the moment. Most distracted drivers will get irritated or angry, but it is extremely important to stop such things and ask the driver to find a place to stop if it is necessary. At the moment, I asked my father to go to an exit and stop at a residential area to finish his call so he would not be distracted and potentially get into an accident.
There are various ways to reduce accidents that happen such as: road infrastructure, as old cities tend to have a one- or two-way road usually narrow where most accidents take place. In-built vehicle safety systems in cars that was improved air bag quality and auto emergency braking to avoid the major accidents. The technical improvements are important as much as the driver's responsibility to be on the road hence it is mandatory to study the laws, systems and have an understanding of how the road works. In India, where I had to stay the entirety of last year and saw many people ignore traffic laws having major accidents on daily basis. I have seen many people ignore the crosswalks that are built to cross the roads safely just to save some time on travel, in the cities I was in which lacked any kind of crosswalks meaning I had to cross the road with ongoing traffic which got me in an accident with a bicycle and putting me in the way of a truck making me to jump for me to avoid the causality of that day. There have been multiple accidents that I have been involved in when I entered a university in India due to the lack of systematic traffic rules and training, with train rush almost fall under the train but luckily only his arm got injured, sadly a truck accident with an over speeding truck and a drunk driver that brutally ran over eleven people where I witnessed it happen and a bus accident which is no longer in the records but a bus went opposite way of the road running over a pair of two people on a motorbike. I think it is extremely important to keep learning on how to learn and drive even after I manage the courage to get back my license after witnessing extreme horrors that have happened on the road. As I keep learning on how to drive safely on the road alongside many big vehicles, it is important to accurately measure the distance between oneself and stay alert for any potential hazards that may come unexpectedly. I would also never have any distractions besides me since I have seen the true dangers of what it can do and hence, I avoid to repeat any mistakes that have happened. For what I know, driver education is an extremely vital information in reducing the rising number of deaths caused by traffic accidents. It equips drivers with skills, including driving techniques, and an understanding of traffic laws to make intuitive and sudden decisions under pressure that require immediate response. Traffic accidents are one of largest injury related preventable deaths making it extremely necessary for new and experienced drivers to learn and teach to stay safe on the road.
