Safe and Save Lives



Driving is a privilege, not a
right. We’ve heard that saying a lot of times, but people still
forget that. There are so many people who drive so recklessly on the
road and it puts others in danger. Most of these drivers have not
received proper drivers ed which leads to their reckless
behaviors on the road. That’s why drivers ed is really
important because it teaches people how to properly drive safe on the
road. And since drivers ed makes people safer drivers, this
leads to a reduced number of deaths as a result of driving. There are
numerous other steps you can take to reduce the number of deaths
related to driving. First off, you MUST make sure that your eyes are
on the road at all times while driving. This is so important because
a lot of people, especially teens, are so easily distracted by their
phones and other things while driving which can lead to a crash.
Another step to take is to always be patient while driving. There are
so many drivers that get impatient while driving and they take their
frustration out on the road and start driving recklessly which can
lead to something dangerous. Lastly, when you’re driving you should
always try to be courteous to other drivers. Courtesy while driving
makes the road safer for everyone and prevents people from getting
into crashes.


When I was little, my family
and I were driving near Longview, Texas and my dad fell asleep for
one second. So, the car moved off road a little bit, and when my dad
saw that he quickly swerved back into the lane, but the tire busted
so our car flipped of the road. Thankfully, we only got a few cuts,
but we were safe. If my dad wasn’t tired when he was driving, then
this situation wouldn’t have occurred. That’s why I take a few
steps to ensure that I’m driving safe on the road. I always make
sure that my phone is put away when I drive, I remain calm while
driving, I’m always courteous to other drivers, and I make sure I
drive under the speed limit. A lot of my friends make fun of me for
driving under the speed limit, but I don’t care as long as I make
sure I’m driving safe and keeping others safe too.
