• Strengthen driver education programs to ensure that new and experienced drivers are well-versed in traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and the risks associated with impaired and distracted driving.
• Leverage emerging technologies for road safety, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), collision avoidance technologies, and intelligent transportation systems.
For my part, I think that the steps I will take to become a safety driver, could be:
Enroll in a Comprehensive Program which include both classroom instruction and practical driving experience. Practice defensive driving techniques, such as maintaining a safe following distance, being aware of my surroundings, anticipating potential hazards, avoiding distractions, checking mi blind spots regularly, adjusting my driving behavior in adverse weather conditions, and using seat belts always.
Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs and avoid distractions like texting or using a phone while driving.
Ensure my vehicle is well-maintained, demonstrate responsible behavior on the road, especially if I have passengers and encourage my friends to do the same.
I have little time driving and that is why I try to be very focused to avoid or cause an accident. Thank God I have not been involved in any type of accident, but I know people who have suffered very serious accidents due to driving under the influence of alcohol or due to irresponsible drivers. In all cases these accidents have changed the lives of those people.
In conclusion, driver education and practicing safe driving habits, can contribute to create a safer road environment for ourselves. Safe driving is a collective responsibility that starts with the knowledge and commitment of every person behind the wheel. can make the difference between life or dead, between continuing with normal life or have to change it, because of an accident.
