2025 Driver Education Round 1
Drivers Are Dumb, Stay Safe

Focusing on your driving doesn’t mean completely ignoring everything else though. I knew I still had to be aware of my surroundings and what was happening around me. I am glad I was taught that way because now I am less scared of driving than I used to be. I love it when I get to drive now. I believe driving is fun but not too much fun because I know I have to be safe. Since I am a young, new driver I have to be 100x more aware of the cars and the traffic rules. I do find it hard sometimes especially when my friends are in the car.
Some other drivers on the road don’t care about others and don’t take themselves into account when they go driving. I see people who naturally get in the car and go 10 over the speed limit. It is proven that even 1 mile over the speed limit could increase your chances of a wreck. Speeding is super dangerous and a huge problem that still hasn’t been resolved in the U.S.A. I hope to see one day everyone traveling the speed limit and following the rules of the road. Because I don’t understand why speeding even seems like a good idea. What if all of a sudden someone has to break because there's a deer and you’re already traveling faster than they were. Then bam, there's a collision that could likely be deadly. That is super scary and could happen to anyone.
Another thing I find stupid is texting while driving and why it has become so popular despite the statistics on deaths when distracted driving. I have never picked up my phone while I was driving because I know how extremely dangerous that can be. Even looking at your phone for one second could change your entire life and possibly others. Why would you want to risk that when you simply could stay safe? How long is a usual trip there and back. My guess would be 30 minutes in the car. People should be able to go 30 minutes without needing to check their phones. I have seen many documentaries and stories that were about a hit and run or just involuntary vehicular manslaughter. It is truly scary because you can tell the people who hit others are remorseful and they can’t do anything to change what they have done because they have already don eit. It is hard to take back something as serious as death.
My last driving peeve is people not having any sort of patience. I mean, everybody has a place to be when they’re driving. Why would they be driving if they didn’t have somewhere to be? I dislike it when people get so frustrated and pass me on to the right when I am going the speed limit. They just want to speed up and get mad at me when I actually follow the law.
In summary, people tend to drive more recklessly these days with distractions everywhere. There are often distractions from music, friends, family, eating, drinking, and phones. I am sure there are even more and there may be more to come. Driving in today’s society is dangeorus because evrybody has their own agenda and get mad at eachother for the smallest things. I wish we could all just drive in peace, I mean really, how hard is it to just get along for however long you’re driving for? Truly I believe people are just prone to anger specifically when driving. And it is usually someone else fault for everything that goes wrong. Everybody is always raging at someone when on the road. That is what causes the aggressive driving and the unsafe driving environment. What would it be like if we all just followed the law?
