Drivers ed
“Baseball
is like driving. It is the one who gets home safely that counts.”
Learning how to drive with a parent, older sibling or a relative can
be nerve-racking. However, drivers’ education can be a way to learn
professionally and efficiently. Drivers Ed helps drivers with safety,
rules of the road, and extra tips that can be useful.
Drivers’
education helps students understand the rules of the road. They teach
right of aways, traffic signals, changing lanes, and many other
practical skills. Safety is also important while driving. As a
driver, you must be cautious of the cars, people, and objects around
your vehicle. If a driver fails to do so, this can lead to serious
accidents. Drivers’ ed teaches students carpool lane confusion,
vehicle maintenance, and appropriate lane usage. This guidance and
advice can help drivers stay safe while getting from point A to point
B.

There
are many simple steps to keep everyone safe on the road. City’s
have speed limits for a reason; follow the rules of the traffic
signs. When you are distracted, who’s driving? According to the
Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, drivers who text are
twenty-three times more likely to be involved in a crash. Eating,
using a phone, driving intoxicated, and driving tired are just some
ways drivers can be distracted.

I,
myself have been in two accidents. Thankful I have come out of both
of them uninjured. The main lesson I have learned from both of them
was, even when you think you are driving safe, you always need to be
paying attention. Watch out for other lanes and stay at least two
cars apart from the car in front of you.

If
I learned anything from Drivers’ education, I learned that driving
is a privilege, not a right. I also learned you must always be
focused while driving. You can’t be sleepy, distracted, upset, or
angry. This can control how you think and drive. Also, watch the
weather. Rain, snow, or fog should be noticed and the driver needs to
be cautious in these circumstances.
