2025 Driver Education Round 1
Driving is a skill and a privilege

Something a lot of people don’t understand is that driving is a privilege, not a right, it is something that is given and can be taken away and I truly believe this is a good thing because in some ways driving is like giving someone a giant metal weapon and it should be treated as such. In California during twenty twenty-two there were around four thousand four hundred and seven fatal car accidents according to rkmlaw.net compare that to gun related deaths in California which are three thousand four hundred and eighty-four (cdc.gov) that is nearly one thousand more deaths, but people will always tell you that driving is safe. I counter it is safe with proper education. Me personally I have been affected by a car accident I was simply driving to the bank. Down the street and in was t boned witch totaled my car and gave me very painful injuries that last to this day I have nerve damage in my right leg. But I truly count myself lucky if it had been in an old car without the safety features my car had I would not be righting this essay wright now or if my car had missed the pole, I hit I would have fell in a twenty-foot drop to a small canal. So, I am one of the lucky ones because I am still breathing. My mom has a truly traumatic experience with car accidents. She lost her brother, my uncle and her first husband within two months of each other both because of car accidents. That is why driving should be taken more seriously it is a dangers act and should be treated as such.
What I think should be done about this is they should make driving education mandatory in all stats and at all ages when you get your license because good driving is something that is taut and requiring instructor to teach people how to drive would get ride of family curses of bad driver because if the only way you learn to drive is from your family witch could be a bad driver to begin with then it would be systemic and not even there fault because they didn’t get the right education. Also, I believe people should take driving test more often because I am twenty seven and I have only ever had to take one driving test when I got it but during this time there has been several new driving laws made lucky I am someone how pays attention to that tip of thing otherwise I would have brock the law possible. This is especially true with elderly individuals. I work with a lot of elderly individuals in my current job, and I hear all the time the animosity they have for their family because they took away their driving license. This is not something the family should have to do. There should be more drivers testing more checking to see if these people can still drive. I know with my grandma we had to take away her license because of her dementia. Then three months later she gets a renewal in the mail pay the money get license it didn’t matter she had no idea how to shift the car into drive. Something I do to be a better driver is trying to be almost over causes when I am driving, and I encourage others to be over causes too.
