Parents have more experience then a young driver has. Parents know
the inconvenient to have to be in the passenger seat will the teen is
driving everywhere while they have a permit. Teens and young adults
are the cause of most traffic accidents in older people’s eyes.
Teens get too distracted on their phones and if you’re giving a
ride to a friend they can distract you from the roads. A lot of the
time teens and young adults treat and act like their car is some type
of toy, but in reality, they don’t feel the actual power of the car
they can kill anyone. There should be a check on how your driving is
every 3 months to check on your driving and maybe teens and young
adults can learn the safer habit of driving like no texting and
driving behind the wheel. As well as having a better understanding of
all the laws on the road.
The
most causes of death are from manual distraction, visual distraction,
and cognitive distractions. This shows that teens do not take driving
seriously and also do not realize what can happen to them if they
continue with bad driving habits. Insurance rates are high for teens
now. If they get into a car accident, their parents might not be able
to afford the insurance. Just alone traffic crashes are leading to
many fatalities in teens. About 3,454 have died in traffic accidents
or crashes. There is a main long straight street in front of my
apartments. So one day in December a bunch of teens and young adults
decided to have a street race at 2 in the morning. Like 2 races have
happened and then the next on someone crashed into our apartments and
all of the other teens and young adults fled the scene. There were 3
young adults in the yellow mustang that crashed one of them didn’t
have their seat belt on so he flew out of the car but sadly he was
the only one that survived. The other to guys were stuck in the
burning hot flames and were knocked out so they sadly burned to
death. One of the guys mom was calling his phone since 7 at night.
They tracked his phone and his phone was at a bar, but he was dead in
the charcoaled yellow mustang. This is an example of young adults not
knowing the power of their own cars.
