How driving affects our community

Driving education is important to reduce the number of deaths because of driving for a lot of reasons. Being able to drive safely, even if it is just across the street, is important for the safety of others. Being able to drive safely on the road is especially important in reducing deaths, it can help drivers know what to do in stressful or events that are not in their control. Knowing what to do when driving to avoid a crash could be vital in people's lives. It could save yours and others as well as an extremely expensive bill. Having the knowledge of driving, especially in other places where you might not be as comfortable is important to make our roads and communities safer for other drivers, pedestrians, and even animals.
Having driving education in our schools would help reduce deaths in driving, by teaching a younger audience earlier. This program could be implemented into many schools to teach younger drivers the ways of the road, help them to learn driving rules and signs and to teach them about being defensive drivers. The class could be used to not only give them knowledge about driving but to help get students ready for their driver's test. They should be able to learn about driving and take tests until they are old enough to drive. Once they are old enough to drive, they could be transferred into another program that would be a hands-on driving experience to help them get comfortable driving before they go onto actual roads.
Some things that can be done to reduce the number of deaths related to driving would be to have a speed limiter so that people who want to speed, are not able to, that way they will not be a danger to others. We could make the roads and highways that we drive on not able to be accessed by pedestrians and take multiple precautions such as blocking off certain entrances with police to protect pedestrians. Other things we can take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is to make a secluded and safe area for people to learn and practice before going out on real highways. Driving on highways on your driving test could be very nerve wracking for the student and could cause accidents. By having a safe, away from popular highways, part of a community where people can go to practice driving would be a lot safer for learners and other people on the road.
I have had some experiences when I was in a car accident. One of the times was when I was on the highway with my family and the person that side swiped us was speeding and merging in and out of lanes. I have also been in a car accident when I was driving, in which the other person hit my side from a turn because they were speeding in a park. Some of my friends would speed and drive recklessly on highways and public roads. They would be going way over the speed limit and not caring about the other people around them on the roads.
Some steps I can take to be a better and safer driver are to watch my speed and learn the roads and highways that I am driving on. I can drive a slower car to manage speeding and drive a car with better visibility to avoid crashes. Steps I could take to help others become safer drivers on the road could be to help them take a driving education class. This will help them learn the bad habits and show them why those unhealthy habits are bad and could cause injury or worse, and it would teach them how to drive responsibly on the road, anywhere they go.
Other steps I can take to be a better driver are to be more patient with other drivers. Instead of rushing to work or to school, I can plan and manage my time to get where I need to get on time instead of rushing and having pressure to get somewhere by a specific time or I would be late. I could take measures such as setting alarms, getting ready earlier or arriving at the destination earlier to minimize driving stress of being late.
