Driving
is a privilege and not a right! Those who know the rules of the road,
understand them, get their beginners and if they are a dissent
drivers, they get their fulls in hope they improve. The only problem
with this is that after they get their fulls, some people think they
don’t need to fallow the speed limits or rule of the sorts. So my
question is, what is the importance of drivers ed?

To
start off, drivers ed is extremely important for the simple
reason that it’s essential for safety. All the time, people speed,
don’t signal their intentions, text and drive, drive impaired and
the list goes on. What these all have in common? They all slow
reaction time as shown in Canada’s Worst Drivers. In one of the
episode, they told the contestants to do what they normally do when
driving like eating, texting, doing makeup at the same time as they
drive in an infinity loop. The final result is that none of them are
able to properly drive and end up going off track showing the dangers
of distracted driving or impaired driving.

So
what can we do to stop these bad habits? Have more police officers on
the road? Re-educate them? Well, the answer is, you can’t stop
them. There will always be somebody thinking nothing will ever happen
to them and will keep doing whatever they do when driving.

Even
if we boost the amount of public transportation around the populated
areas and make it free, there will always be drivers on the roads and
human error is inevitable.

Since
we can’t change how others drive, you can only improve how you
drive, but how do you do that? To start, you can make sure you know
and understand the rules of the road; get rid of bad habits when
driving and be aware of your surroundings. If you feel tired, you
shouldn’t drive.

With
all these actions people do, it’s surprising that I’ve never been
in an accident! I’m not saying I’m a perfect driver; far from
it, but it goes to show that from my point of view, even though they
annoy me, not everyone is a bad driver. However, there is much
improvement to be done.
