Importance of Drivers ed

The importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths
as a result of driving is by teaching new drivers how to properly be
safe on the road and how to be aware of other drivers. Driver
educations teaches new drivers how to drive defensively and teaches
them that they need to watch out for themselves because there’s a
lot of people on the road that don’t watch for others. It has also
been shown that new drivers who take drivers ed are likely to
be involved in automobile accidents or violations in the first few
years of driving.

A few ways that can
help reduce the number of deaths related to driving, first and
foremost, are following the traffic laws. The majority of accidents
and violations are from operators not following the traffic laws.
Another way is to avoid all distractions, you can do this by
connecting your phone to your handsfree system so you don’t have to
touch your phone, you can use your steering wheel controls as well.
Another way to prevent deaths is to never drive under the influence
of drugs or alcohol. Never drive tired as well, it has the same
effect as driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

I personally have
seen family members and friends drive extremely irresponsibility and
under the influence. It was definitely harder when I wasn’t able to
drive, but now that I can drive, I try and drive for someone if they
aren’t completely sober or are tired. Being able to help someone by
driving them somewhere safe or taking them is so much better than
seeing them drive off impaired and putting their life on the line and
possibly other innocent people.

Steps that I can
take as well as others to be a better and safer driver are always
following the rules of the road, making sure we are well rested and
never under the influence of anything while driving, and always
driving defensively. Driving defensively is key because you need to
be aware that anyone can do a jack move at any time. Another
important step is to stay off phones and no texting and driving.
