Personal experience of a car accident that has made me more aware of driving safely was paying more attention to the road such as being aware of my surroundings. Around Easter I was driving my siblings to go out for a fun day. I was so fixated on changing the music when I did not realize there was another vehicle going super fast which struck me on the side. This resulted in me losing control of the wheel, hitting the tree and rolling over. After recovering from that accident I became a better driver. In this experience both drivers were in the wrong because I was distracted by the music that I could have seen the car then mostly moved over to the side of the road a little bit. The other driver was also in the wrong because they were not following traffic laws going way above the speed limit and were also running away from the scene of the accident. This experience also taught me the importance of having a seat belt because I remember being told multiple times during my accident that if I had not been bulked up I would not have been here living today. Steps to become a better driver is to practice safe driving habits such as wearing a seatbelt, and follow traffic laws. Stay informed with changes in the traffic regulations, and weather changes. Being vigilant, such as staying focused, avoiding distractions, and defensive driving such as anticipating potential hazards on the road.
