As
now becoming an adult I now have more responsibilities, one being
driving around others which their lives are now in my hands. With
knowing how many people have died or been in a car accident from a
distracted driver is crazy. Just this past weekend I was in Fort
Wayne and as I was sitting in the passenger seat as I witnessed this
young man on his phone while driving and then rear ended someone
which made them also rearend the person in front of them. All of that
would not have happened if that young man was not on his phone. More
than likely whatever it was behind that screen could have waited
until he had arrived at his destination. When being in the driver's
seat you may just think of it as a normal thing, no big deal. It
actually is a bigger deal than some people look at it as. You are
accounted for for the lives in your car and also the people in the
cars around. Thousands of people die a year from car accidents and
the number just keeps increasing by the year and I do not think
technology has helped this number in any way.
When
driving I always picture myself as the person in charge. You need to
make sure everyone has their seatbelts on for safety. Some people
refuse to wear it. It is not going to hurt you in any way, if
anything it will save your life. Also making sure others in your car
arent being a distraction is your respomisbility. As I sit in the
drivers seat you also have tp pay attention to your driving. Your
driving will affect the livews in others cars around you and the
lives in your own car. When driving everyone needs to make sure they
are obbeyong all laws and paying attention to all signs around them
for everyones safety. The speed limits signs are out there for a
requirement to follow, not a suggestion. Being in the drivers seat is
a major responibility that people need to take more seriously and not
be distracted while driving.
