To
start off, Drivers ed should be mandatory for all. These
classes teach students each and every single rules on the road as
well as all road signs and the signification of each. After taking
those classes, students have an excellent opportunity to put into
practice those different rules learned in class by having the
experience of being in control of a vehicle among other drivers along
with an instructor. The more adolescents to take Driver’s
Education, the more people become aware of the laws, the rules on the
road as well as the different signs present on the road. This
obviously leads to reducing the amount of deaths as a result of
driving.

A
step that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to
driving, is making the Drivers ed classes mandatory. In my
opinion, I think the government should make these courses a law for
all those who intend to obtain a valid driving license. A fine for
driving way above speed limit should be sentenced more severely as
well as a higher cost. I also think that by educating young people
about the negative consequences by using testimonials from people who
have lost a loved one due to an accident, we are able to make a true
difference for generations to follow.


I
have never been in a car accident but I have seen a lot of them. I
have a close friend of mine who lost a friend to a motorcycle
accident due to speeding. I have also seen friends of mine drive way
above the speed limit and family who drove while they were under the
influence of alcohol. As I am more mature and especially now that I
have my licence, I speak up and call them out not only for my safety
but for the safety of everyone else on the road whether it be someone
walking or someone driving.


Here
is a couple of steps that I can take to insure my safety and the
safety of others:

Placing
my phone in my purse or in my bag so I am not tempted to answer
texts, emails or call while driving.

When
a red light turns green, wait a couple extra seconds before going
just to ensure that nobody decides to cross a light that has already
turned red.

If
ever I see suspicious driving, I can call the police immediately to
report unsafe driving.

Follow
the rules as well as all speed limit.

Staying
up to date to make sure I am aware of all new rules or changes of
law related to driving.

Leaving
enough room between my vehicle and the vehicle in front of me in
case if any sudden stops or lane changes.

Making
that I am not feeling drowsy
