In The Driver’s Seat
Safe driving is the only way to decrease the number of deaths caused by car accidents. The importance of drivers ed in reducing the number of driving deaths is very significant. If we did not have drivers ed, you probably wouldn’t even be able to walk on the sidewalk without almost getting killed. Drivers ed ensures that the driver knows everything important they need to know about driving. Drivers ed teaches all the safety rules and tips about driving so it also ensures that the driver knows everything they need to know about safety while driving.
One thing that we can do to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is have drivers take annual driving tests that way all the information they learned through drivers ed stays fresh in their mind. Another step we can take is to have bigger consequences when an accident happens that way people would be way more cautious about accidents because these days it seems like you can’t go around driving without seeing at least one car accident scene.
I have never had an experience of being in a car accident but there have been plenty of times when I’m with my friends or family and they make a mistake while driving that could have been dangerous if another car was there. The usual mistakes they make would be like turning to sharply or turning without looking if another car is there. Another mistake they make is driving through red lights in fact my brother got a ticket for driving through a red light just last week. The most common mistake they all make though is speeding everyone I have ever got in a car with has sped and there should be more tough consequences for that as well as a better way to monitor it so that the people doing it get caught.
The steps that I can take to be a safer driver is to first study for the permit test then when I pass, I will practice and study hard to get my driver’s license. When I do get my driver’s license and I start driving I will try very hard not to make any mistakes or to get in any car accidents. One thing that comes to mind that I can do to help others become safer on the road is to call them out when they do something wrong, in a polite way of course so that they make sure they don’t do it again and will not take offense.
