Drivers ed is very important because it educates a new driver on the dangers of driving and ways to prevent getting into an accident. Statistically drivers who go through some sort of driver’s education are less likely to get into a wreck or get a ticket. Drives ed supplies questions that will help a teen learn laws of the road that they may not have known prior to taking the drivers ed course. By going through a drivers ed program, you get the opportunity to go on drives with a trained driving instructor. This can help boost a teens confidence because it is a lot easier to drive with someone who has experience with teens and knows how to give appropriate advice during the drive than it is to drive with a parent who might be driving with a new driver for the first time. During drivers ed you learn about the laws of the road and the penalties for breaking them, this can give a new driver a sense of responsibility because they know if they break the rules then they will have to face the consequences. Some states have even made drivers ed a requirement because driving without any knowledge is very dangerous. Some steps that someone can take to be a responsible driver is making sure you obey every traffic sign. If you can’t see both sides of the road when you get to a stop sign make sure you come to a complete stop at the stop sign and then move up where you can see. Never try and speed past a yellow light. If you have to speed up to pass a yellow light, you're probably not going to make it. Sitting at a light for two minutes is not worth the risk of getting into a possibly fatal car wreck. You should also make sure you stay as close to the speed limit as you possibly can to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you. Just make sure you follow every law that you learned in drivers ed and you should be fine.
