Even if you have been driving for many years you can still be at higher risks of being in car accidents even in situations that may cause deaths, if you do not follow the rules of the road. Many places over the world require permit test and drivers education for people especially new driver to prevent these situations. Especially for young drivers, they are required to complete both drivers education and behind the wheel instructions to get their driver license. For example in the state of California minors are required to complete a California Drivers Education course as well as a 6 hour behind the wheel instruction with a professional driver with a total of 50 ours of driving practice. Having so many requirements to driving only makes it so car crashes are less likely to happen. Car collisions can be extremely scary and be tramatic to many people so its important to pay attention to your surrounding and to drive safely to prevent these situations. According to Forbes.com a total of 28,033 males and 10,690 females died in a car accident in 2020. These accidents can occur any day and any time of the day, people are more high at risks of getting in a car accident if a driver speed or are drunk. As a young/new driver it is your responsibility of knowing your consequences of any risky actions you take, in fact there were 10% of teenagers who have admitted to drinking and driving. Drinking and driving is an extremely dangerous thing to do because you are not yourself, it will be difficult to focus on driving and so you will make poor decisions. In Montana 51% of these car accidents were due to intoxinated driving. Driving under such influences can put both parties’s lives at risk, its important to educate yourself and others of why you should think twice before sitting behind the wheels under such conditions.
To reduce the number of deaths when driving we can educate others on how to react when in a car accident. In the California Driver’s course, one of the readings is on how to react when in a car accident, brake so that your car would not hit the car in front, don’t take off your seat welt, press your head against the head rest, and brake yourself. These steps are the most important because they will teach drivers how to prepare themselves in such unpreventable situations, if you know how to react then there will be less causes of death. If the driver did not brake themselves or let their seatbelt go there could have been a huge disaster where the driver or passenger could have hit their head on the wheel or hit their head in the front. Additionally there was an car crash related accident with a claw clip, where the clip caused more damage in the passangers neck, so one must always be careful of what they bring when driving. There are many situations that can lead to accidents so we must always be careful of our surroundings and teach others how to protect themselves, never start driving until everyone is seatbelted no matter what you must always wear a seatbelt
I have been in a car accident before, one of the times was when I was in elementary school the other time was around a year ago. I don’t remember the 1st car crash I experiences but, I know that no body got injured. When I was in a car crash a year ago the car above us got rear ended as well as the car that was in front of the car we rear ended. The crash happened very quickly and was all due to braking at a slow speed. Distracted driving can really lead to unwanted situations like going on your phone where your eyes and hands are on a device rather than the car’s wheel and the road. I have seen family members who have been on their phone while driving and had heard of an incident where an uncle got arrested from drunk driving. As an adult it is their responsibility to know the concesquences no one will be there to baby them and constantly tell them what and what not to do, every driver was was given the priveldge to drive. As the younger generation all we can do is remind them of how driving responsibility wont only hurt both the passenger and driver but, also the other people in the road. While educating ourselves as well, not following along with the bad examples we may see from elders. As a teenager people may be less strict on us and let thinking slide but, that does not mean you can do as you please, drinking and driving, or doing any other poor choices when driving. Driving can be scary and so will the risks that come with driving this is why every driver must prepare themselves before they decide to get behind the wheel, think “am I in a good condition to drive” or “will my condition harm others” don’t make poor decisions that can not only hurt others but yourself as well.
