The importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is so important because it can be some people life or death when it comes to people not knowing the safety of driving. If people would know how many people get killed by driving accidents and how many could have been prevented if they would have known what they should and should not do. In the year 2022 there was 42,514 deaths reported in the United States that was caused by motor vehicle accidents. This number could be reduced if the people part of these accident knew more about driving and all the safety that comes with driving a vehicle. This is why I think that more people should know about driver safety and the importance of driver education to help bring down the number of deaths just from car accidents. Some steps that can be taken to help the number of deaths go down for car crashes can be a few things to like not having your phone in your hand, to paying more attention, to knowing more about the signs that something might go wrong with your car, to even just knowing more about where you are driving and what is all around you. The main step people can take if to make sure your phone is not in a place that it will distract you and that you are using hands-free devices. if you are on your phone while driving it takes your attention from the road and while driving things can happen so fast and if you don't pay attention to everything then you are at risk for getting into a crash. driving while under the influence is also a big cause so many different crashes. many people think that one drink if fine for them to still drive, but that one drink can affect your reaction time to things, and you could end you in a crash. So, some of the steps that people can take to help prevent all these is to make sure your phone is out of sight, so you are nit tempted to touch it. Make sure you are not impaired at all, so you have the best chance on making it home safely. One of the main steps is also always know what you are around and what is happening around you sand pay attention to everything. These are just some steps you can take to help reduce the number of crashes. I have had an experience in being in a car crash. It was the age of 16 and I just got my license a couple of months before. I was on my way to a practice and there was a lot of construction going on the route I took. The light has been green for about a minute, and I was going the speed limit and just cruising through because all the lights were timed. I was driving an impala, and I was all by myself. This truck comes out of nowhere and completely T-boned me. He admitted to running the red light because he was not paying attention to who all was around and thought that it would be fine either way. My car was completely totaled, and his truck only had a little damage. This left me not driving for a couple of months after just being too scared of other people not paying attention. I am finally back to driving like normal but anytime it looks like someone is not going to stop by me and could T-bone me I flinch, and I am always checking the sides of me making sure I am safe. Some of the steps that I can take to be a better and safer driver and to help others become better people on the road is to always start off in places that are not busy if you are new or scared to be driving so you don't feel that bad once you get into the heavy parts and so you won't freak out and put yourself in a bad spot. Some of the steps I follow is that once I get in the car and start it, I plug my phone in to the CarPlay and get that playing so I don't have to touch it once I start to drive. The other thing I do is before I leave, make sure the route I am taking won't have other accidents or something that can cause back up in traffic or lead me to getting hurt. The last things I do is make sure I have enough gas and that none of my lights are on the dash. These are some steps I take that help me and make sure that other is from my driving.
